1. Drive your sales by touching your clients' emotions

What really gets your customers to buy your product or sign up for your service? The benefits your product/service brings. And the price, sure. But these tie into emotions.

You'll sell successfully by addressing the emotion a buyer has for your product or service. As Joe Farinaccio says in "Touching the Prospect's Emotions in Your Sales Letter:"

Most sales letters target one or two primary emotions and then appeal to one or two others. The more emotions you can blend into your copy though the more powerful your letter will be.

You can make your letter or brochure more powerful by targeting just one or two emotions (desire, greed) and blending them into your copy. At Jumping Bean, we write copy that makes your customers want, crave, and desire what you have to offer.

Use emotions to make your collateral even more powerful>>

If you missed that issue on writing a bio, just visit the Archives page. You can find that, plus all past issues of "bean news!"

2. Make your PowerPoints stand out

Is there anything more dreadful than the 85-slide PowerPoint presentation? One with too many "slick" animations and annoying clipart?

With PowerPoints, the goal should be to grab your audience's attention, and guide them along as you explain why your product/service is so great. Don't drag them from one unnecessary point to the next.

Jumping Bean has created successful PowerPoint presentations for Hewlett-Packard, SPSS, Open Port Technology, Kaplan Higher Education, and many others.

3. Summer special extended!

Sigh, summer came and went. We just wanted to thank you for taking advantage of our 10% off direct mail special.

We were able to do a lot more direct mail in the last few months—more than in the last 6 years we've been in business! We were able to get our hands on emails, letters, buck slips, dm packages, and more!

Offer extended thru the holidays!
And because we'd like everyone to have a happy holiday season, we're extending our special 10% off direct mail!

Why you need direct mail
Direct mail is used to grab your customers' attention fast, get them in your door or site, and persuade them to buy your product or service. And to sweeten the deal, the offer has to be something your customers (think they) can't refuse!

Offer is good until December 31! Call or email us today! Take a look at some recent dm pieces we've done.

Do you want to advertise your business/service on Bean News? Take a look at our client list, and you can see the industries we cater to. Send an email, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible

4. Tip: Work smarter by customizing your toolbars

Show of hands: Who uses the Document Map feature in Microsoft® Word? Or, the Research feature? Nobody? Then why are they prominently displayed on your toolbar?

Toolbars should be used to access the most commonly used actions. You shouldn't be constantly clicking the Edit menu, selecting a menu item, and so on and so on.

Customize Word to fit your needs
Fortunately, Word (and pretty much every other Microsoft Office program) lets you customize your toolbar to your liking. Want to save all documents at the same time? There's a command for that. Why not put THAT on your toolbar? On your way out the door, and want to close all your open documents at the same time? Put THAT on your toolbar as well.

Use the features you want! Find out how >>

Make your day run more smoothly and efficiently with our timesaving tips. Got a tip? Send it to tips@jumpbean.com. You might see it in the next issue of "bean news!"
