Increase sales with keyword-rich hyperlinks

Now that the Web is a little more than 10 years old, it's odd that some companies continue to use non-descriptive hyperlinks—or hyperlinks that are completely misleading.

Dare I say that hyperlinks are just as important as your headlines? While your headlines bring people people to the content, rich hyperlinks keep them interested in your site.

For instance, the link at the top of the page, "Increase sales with keyword-rich headlines," brought you here. Why? The keywords are attention-grabbing (Increase sales) and informative (keyword-rich hyperlinks). It's a lot better than a simple, "Click here" (which a recent client was trying to eradicate).

In fact, search engines are drawn to hyperlinks. The thought-process is "If it's hyperlinked, it MUST lead to something of value." Now, that, of course, is a very simplistic way to think about hyperlinks. But it's how today' search engines work.
